As a professional voice over artist, I’m always looking for something that I can consider my niche.
Whilst my passion is for animation, such opportunities are a rare and precious thing. The good news however, is that there does appear to be one area for voice over where I find myself working more and more, and that is in the narration of explainer videos.
You will have all seen many of them by now, so there’s no need for me to explain (see what I did there) exactly what they are. The reason I feel my voice works well for them is because they tend to be narrated by a voice which is friendly and sympathetic to the needs of the customer. They’re not trying to sell you anything – at least not in the traditional sense, and they work well because they create the feeling that you’re being given a recommendation from a friend.
The animations are simple yet stylish, and the whole thing generally runs at under 2 minutes – which is of course about 1 minute and 58 seconds longer than the average attention span of someone visiting a website.
My own web designer has suggested that I get one created for this site, and I’ll certainly get onto that ASAP, but in the meantime, you can hear my latest work by visiting the Spreadco website.
Until next time.
