Shine Walk

So this is me and my best mate reaching the 26 mile marker at The Shine Walk.

It’s something I am proud to have taken part in the for past six years, and this year is no exception.

The Shine Walk is a full marathon – that’s 26.2 miles across London, and just to keep things interesting, we do it at night. Around 16,000 people will take to the streets to raise money for Cancer Research. We used to set off around 10.30pm and normally enjoy watching the sun coming up over the Thames as we cross Westminster Bridge at around 6am. This year, for reasons that have not been explained, we’ll be starting a little earlier, at around 8.30, so we will be done by around 4am.

But without your support, this is just a lot of people holding up traffic and getting blisters. So please please please would you go on over to my sponsorship page here and make the whole experience so much more meaningful?

You can watch me reporting live from the event on Facebook live throughout the night. I’ll just stop when it’s obvious that most people have gone to bed, but then the cameras roll again as we get to the mile 26 marker where you can join me for the last 385 yards in The City of London.

Thank you.
