New voice for Chinese TV Station

propellerGood afternoon tennis fans, and as we settle down for two wonderful weeks of Wimbledon, allow me to share one of my most recent projects with you. Of course, if you’d like to enjoy some strawberries and cream whilst you’re watching, then please go and take a look at what’s in your fridge, and the very best of luck to you.

Recently I was contacted by a Chinese TV channel broadcasting here in the UK who were looking to revoice a documentary. Having already worked with broadcasters in China, it was a delight to receive a request from a station broadcasting to the Chinese community, but from studios in West London.

Some Chinese documentaries can be what we refer to as “wall to wall”, in that there is a little time to breath in order to get very wordy sentences into very tight timelines. Fortunately, the pace of this piece was a lot more relaxed and the client actually wanted to keep the level of inflection very light. It’s a tricky style for someone who is as naturally animated as I am, but they are pleased with the result and would like to speak with me about voicing some more programmes for them too, so it’s good news all round.

Propeller TV is on Channel 189 on Sky and I’m pleased to say that they also have their own YouTube channel, which means I can share the documentary with you here:
